Position: College and Career Bound Program Facilitator

Position Overview

The College and Career Bound Program Facilitator is responsible for administering and implementing the College and Career Bound (CCB) program at the Sacred Heart Center. This position reports to the Youth Programs Coordinator.


Key Responsibilities

The College and Career Bound Program Facilitator will have the following primary responsibilities:


Plan and implement activities for CCB bimonthly program

  • Coordinate and prepare bi-monthly student sessions and some special field trips, including communicating with presenters, mentors, and students, and obtaining all supplies and food as needed
  • Schedule activities, facilities, and volunteers as required
  • Supervise and lead activities for youth
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers/mentors
  • Plan, schedule and conduct training session for mentors
  • Encourage and recruit youth to participate in programs
  • Obtain, when necessary, parental support and consent for activities and field trips
  • Monitor the use of equipment and facilities
  • Ensure that youth and youth organizations are aware of available CCB program, in coordination with Youth Programs Coordinator
  • Conduct marketing and outreach to promote CCB program, in coordination with Youth Programs Coordinator
  • Prepare financial and program reports for CCB as designated by funding sources
  • Record information on and prepare reports concerning CCB program, costs, numbers of participants, equipment and facility use
  • Ensure that all CCB activities and volunteer screening and onboarding are implemented and operating according to relevant policies and procedures


Other tasks

  • Support other Center youth programs on an as needed basis
  • Support additional administrative needs of office on an as needed basis
  • Work as part of a team with other SHC staff to accomplish overall organizational goals

Experience and Attributes: 
Ideal candidates for this position will share our commitment to open opportunities for economic and social integration, family success and community leadership for Richmond’s Latino community, and have related experience, including:

  • Associate’s Degree and a minimum two years’ experience in a human service organization. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships, especially youth
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, bicultural
  • Highly organized, analytical, IT-competent – proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines
  • Exemplary record of strong communication skills and customer service focus, excellent follow-up, and an ability to work with diverse groups in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to work one to two afternoons/evenings a week is necessary.
