Position: Receptionist

Position Overview

The Receptionist is an initial welcoming contact with visitors to the Sacred Heart Center during weekly business hours and will address or refer calls and inquires to the appropriate staff person. In addition, the Receptionist will supply information to individuals inquiring and assist with administrative duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

The Receptionist will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Respond to phone calls and voice mails and refer to appropriate staff or provide pertinent information; take messages when necessary
  • Assist with outreach phone calls to Sacred Heart Center program participants
  • Greet and welcome visitors, address their inquiries, and direct or refer to appropriate staff
  • Organizes and maintains a professional appearance in the reception area and lounge of the Sacred Heart Center offices
  • Assist program staff and volunteers in making copies
  • Open and close classrooms in preparation for daily programs
  • Making sure the class rooms are appropriate for the activities- AC/Heater
  • Set up for board of directors meeting and other meetings, as needed
  • Assist program staff with receiving money and making receipts, as needed
  • Opening the building at the beginning of each day

Experience and Attributes:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, bicultural
  • Highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently, time management and organizational skills
  • Exemplary record of strong communication skills and customer service focus, excellent follow-up, and an ability to work with diverse groups in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, option for some flexible hours
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for SHC’s mission
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
