The SHC ILSP is committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of information entrusted to us by our clients. We adhere to strict professional standards and legal ethics governing practitioner-client relationships and the handling of client information.

Information Protection

As a Department of Justice (DOJ) Recognized organization with Accredited Representative staff and volunteers, we maintain client confidentiality in accordance with professional legal standards. Client information is kept confidential and securely stored in the following ways:

• Physical case files are maintained in secured, locked storage within our office premises with restricted access.
• Digital case files are securely stored in industry-standard case management systems with appropriate access controls.
• All SHC ILSP staff and volunteers are required to comply with confidentiality obligations and data security policies.

Client Payment Information

SHC ILSP values the security of your payment information. Please note that:

• Customer payment information is processed directly through Stripe servers. Stripe is the industry standard payment processing platform utilized by our practice management system, Clio.
• Payment information is not processed or stored by SHC ILSP systems.
• SHC ILSP does not have access to or retain customer payment card details.

Communication Practices

In the course of providing legal services, we may communicate with you via email, telephone, mail, or other methods as agreed upon during your initial consultation. We take reasonable precautions when communicating about your case.

Professional Standards

Our services are provided in accordance with professional standards established by the Department of Justice for Recognized Organizations and Accredited Representatives. Specific information about how we handle your personal information within the practitioner-client relationship will be provided in your client engagement agreement.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy periodically. Any material changes will be communicated to active clients and posted on our website.
