Manager of Grants & Impact

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Grants and Impact is a key member of the leadership and development teams and plays a central role in advancing the organization’s mission through strategic sustainability and advancement of Sacred Heart Center programs and services. This position leads the planning and execution of a comprehensive development program, alongside the Development Coordinator, with a strong emphasis on grant writing, sustainable funding, and collaborating on reporting program impact with the programs team.

This role works closely with the Executive Director and Board to strengthen existing funding streams while identifying new opportunities to share Sacred Heart Center’s impact. The Manager of Grants and Impact brings both strategy and hands-on execution balancing big-picture planning with the day-to-day work of writing grants, building relationships, and ensuring strong stewardship of funds. This role works closely with the Development Coordinator to execute the Center’s development strategy.

This role is responsible for researching, preparing, submitting and managing grant proposals and reports that support SHC goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting , project management skills with an emphasis in outcome and measurement.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Writing & Institutional Funding

 Lead the full grant lifecycle, including prospect research, proposal development, submission, and reporting

  • Develop clear, compelling, and competitive grant proposals aligned with program goals and funder priorities
  • Build and steward relationships with foundation, corporate, and government funders, with the help of the Development Coordinator
  • Monitor grant performance to ensure compliance with deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements

Cross-Department Collaboration

 Partner with program, finance, and operations teams to develop accurate proposals, budgets, and funding strategies

  • Collaborate with program staff to define goals, outcomes, and performance metrics that demonstrate impact
  • In collaboration with other staff, coordinate the collection and analysis of program data to support grant applications and reporting
  • Translate program outcomes and data into strong narratives for proposals and funder reports
  • Ensure alignment across departments on grant deliverables, budgets, and compliance requirements
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with internal teams to track progress and address challenges
  • Use evaluation findings and program insights to strengthen future proposals and funding strategies

Strategic Fundraising Leadership

 Develop and implement a multi-year funding strategy with clear, measurable goals

  • Diversify revenue streams including individual giving, partnerships, and community-based fundraising
  • Identify new funding opportunities and adapt strategies based on performance and trends
  • Support a culture of philanthropy across the organization

Development Department Collaborations

  • Ensure consistent, meaningful communication with donors, including updates and impact reporting
  • Represent the organization externally and strengthen its presence in the community
  • Plan and oversee fundraising events and community initiatives that increase visibility and revenue
  • Build partnerships with local businesses and sponsors for collaborative fundraising efforts
  • Ensure events are well-executed, mission-aligned, and financially effective
  • Supervise and support development staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment
  • Work cross-functionally with program and operations teams to align fundraising with impact
  • Support development communications, including campaigns, storytelling, and outreach materials

 

Performance & Impact Measurement

 Define clear program outcomes and success metrics

  • Partner with program staff to track and analyze data
  • Use insights to improve fundraising strategies and strengthen grant proposals
  • Prepare strong, transparent reports for funders demonstrating impact and accountability and supports SHC’s broader outreach objectives.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, as the position may involve attending meetings, community events, and outreach activities.
  • Ability to move throughout the office, community locations, and event venues, including climbing stairs and navigating uneven terrain when necessary.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, including computers, printers, and phones, and to perform tasks such as typing, filing, and data entry.
  • Ability to lift and carry event materials, supplies, and outreach items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally during event preparation, setup, and breakdown.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required to support community outreach events, volunteer activities, or partnership engagements.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, with strong cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with other diverse communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • At least 3 years of nonprofit experience with demonstrated success in improving systems
  • Strong track record securing funding from foundations, corporations, and/or grant writing
  • Experience managing multiple funding streams and meeting revenue goals
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office

  • Technologically proficient, with experience in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and donor or case management systems (e.g., Apricot, Bloomerang )
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all aspects of work
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various locations throughout the service areas as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond to evolving priorities, including occasional evenings and weekends

FLSA Status –  EXEMPT

Salary Range: Starting at $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package included.
