Payment and Refund Notice

Payment Terms

The Sacred Heart Center, Inc. Immigration Legal Services Program (SHC ILSP) requires a retainer payment upon engagement for legal services. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Online payments through our secure payment portal
  • Checks and money orders made payable to “Sacred Heart Center, Inc.”
  • Cash payments (receipts will be provided)

All fees are charged in US Dollars (USD) only.

Initial Consultations

Initial consultations may be subject to a fee, which will be communicated to you prior to your appointment. This fee is non-refundable as it covers the time and resources dedicated to evaluating your case.

Retainer and Billing Practices

  • Upon acceptance of your case, SHC ILSP will request a retainer payment based on the estimated scope of services needed
  • This retainer is placed in a client trust account and drawn upon as work on your case progresses
  • Work is billed according to the fee schedule provided in your service agreement
  • When the retainer is depleted, additional payments may be required to continue services

Refund and Withdrawal Notice

  • Results in immigration cases are not guaranteed
  • Refunds are not available for legal work already completed
  • If you choose to withdraw from representation, you are entitled to reimbursement of any portion of your retainer that has not been earned through completed, billable work
  • Expenses incurred in the course of case work, including filing fees, postage, fingerprinting, and notarization, cannot be refunded

Cancellation Process

If you wish to terminate services or request a refund of unexpended retainer funds:

  1. Notify your legal representative in writing (email or letter)
  2. Your request will typically be reviewed within 5 business days
  3. Any applicable refund will be processed within 14 business days of approval
  4. Refunds will be issued in the same form as the original payment when possible
